I was born many years ago in a small village somewhere in Germany. My musical career started early. I delighted my relatives on every kids birthday party with modernistic interpretations of simple folk songs. The sharp tones from my fipple flute triggered painful grimaces on my listeners faces and so I understood early in my life that music and emotion are closely linked together.
I extended my musical interest in many directions and styles. Practicing my favourite heavy metal guitar solo before going to church for the trombone choir rehearsal was a typical afternoon routine for me in my early teen ages.
Years went by and another interest began to take over my passion: science. I eventually studied physics and even earned a PhD on a topic that only few people on earth can pronounce without stuttering.
Nowadays, I still work as a scientist. Only the research area has changed a bit. Trying to improve the quality of life for people with cancer turned out to be more fulfilling than trying to unravel the structure of the universe.
Music has also started to enter my life again. My fascination for electronic music is still on the rise and will hopefully someday fuse with my hibernating musical roots to something that is unique, personal and joyful, also for others.
